Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine, reported that Russia has accumulated enough forces to try to attack Sumy region.

“The enemy really has a large number of forces and means, both in terms of personnel and equipment, within the Kursk region. In particular, at one time the accumulation began from the moment when Russia tried and tried to displace the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which were conducting their operation within the Kursk region,” he said on the air of a national telethon.

Demchenko points out that Russia continues to keep troops in this direction, but there is a periodic change in the number of military personnel and equipment.

“The enemy has enough forces there to carry out actions against our border, to create an attempt to attack the territory of Ukraine,” the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine stated

Previously, Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Deputy Commander of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, Maksym Zhorin, stated that Russia would try to use a possible breakthrough in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions not to capture cities, but as a tool of political pressure.

The military officer called for taking the situation on the border of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions "as seriously as possible."

In addition, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia has concentrated 50,000 troops for an offensive in northern Ukraine. Sky News also reported that Russia is preparing a large-scale offensive on Kharkiv and has allegedly transferred 50,000 troops from Kursk to the Ukrainian border.

At the same time, the operational-tactical group "Kharkiv" denied information about the transfer of 50 thousand Russian soldiers to the border with the aim of attacking Kharkiv.

• On May 27, the occupation troops advanced in the areas of Bilovodyv (Sumy Oblast) , Kamianka (Kharkiv Oblast), and Kotlyarivka (Donetsk Oblast).

• On May 24, DeepState project analysts updated the map of hostilities in Sumy Oblast , where 62.6 km² of the region's territory is marked as occupied.

• On May 2, analysts from the DeepState project reported that Russian troops managed to occupy Tarasivka, located in the Donetsk region.
