Ukrainian company creates technology for building 2D and 3D terrain maps

Ukrainian company Farsight Vision has developed a technology that uses artificial intelligence to create 2D and 3D terrain maps based on drone footage.

This was reported by the Brave1 technology cluster.

Farsight Vision, a member of the Brave1 cluster, develops systems that transform data from unmanned aerial vehicles into accurate 2D and 3D terrain models for rapid analysis in combat situations.

AI is a key element of Farsight Vision’s solutions. Artificial intelligence algorithms automate the processing of photo and video data. This enables automatic detection of changes, object recognition, and the construction of a three-dimensional situational picture of the battlefield in real time.

According to the technology cluster, the company’s products are already being actively used by the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Farsight Vision’s AI solutions enable users to

• create orthophoto maps with an accuracy of 5–7 cm/pixel in less than an hour;
• automatically detect changes and objects on the ground;
• build 2D and 3D terrain maps based on photos and videos;
• explore terrain and plan operations without satellite navigation.

Farsight Vision solutions are compatible with all types of UAVs and integrated with automated control systems: DELTA, Kropiva, Combat Vision, MilChat, TacticMap.

Recently, the Brave1 defense technology cluster launched a specialized chat for fast and secure information exchange between manufacturers and the military.

As explained by Brave1, one of the main problems in working with military units was the lack of a secure communication channel through which the military could quickly receive verified information about the latest technologies and at the same time provide their own feedback.

Although many units are already actively communicating with Brave1, not all are aware of the innovative solutions available and how they can be applied on the battlefield.

In order to solve this issue, Brave1 Chat was created — a closed community within the Delta system that allows the military to receive up-to-date and detailed information and interact directly with the cluster team.

This chat has become an operational channel for disseminating information about technologies, manufacturers, plans, events, opportunities, and test results.
